Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience

About the Peter Westbrook Foundation
The Peter Westbrook Foundation (PWF) is a nationally recognized nonprofit that uses the sport of fencing to empower underrepresented youth through athletic excellence, academic support, and mentorship. With a legacy rooted in Olympic success and community impact, PWF is committed to developing champions both on and off the fencing strip. Position Summary PWF is seeking an experienced and strategic fundraising professional to lead its development efforts as Development Manager/Director. This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of fundraising, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, foundation grants, special events, and donor stewardship. The Development Manager will work closely with the CEO, board members, and program staff to secure and grow sustainable revenue streams to support PWF’s mission.

Key Responsibilities Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive development strategy aligned with PWF’s strategic plan and growth goals

  • Partner with the CEO and Board to cultivate and solicit major donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation funders

  • Oversee all fundraising activities to meet annual revenue goals across individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events

  • Lead foundation grant writing and reporting, particularly for academic enrichment and core youth development programs

  • Drive corporate engagement strategy to support the competitive athlete program and national fencing initiatives

  • Cultivate a strong individual giving program, including annual appeals, donor engagement campaigns, and major gifts

  • Develop and manage the development budget and revenue forecasts

  • Maintain accurate donor records and pipeline tracking through CRM

  • Prepare regular fundraising reports for the CEO and Board of Directors

Donor Stewardship & Communications

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key donors, partners, and stakeholders through personalized engagement and stewardship plans

  • Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials and donor impact stories

  • Ensure timely acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting for all gifts and grants

Corporate Relations

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partnerships that support PWF’s Competitive Athlete Program, youth development programs and organizational priorities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of corporate sponsors and prospects aligned with PWF’s mission and funding goals

  • Create compelling proposals, pitch decks, and customized partnership packages tailored to CSR and brand alignment goals

  • Lead corporate engagement strategy, including sponsorships, cause-marketing campaigns, employee volunteer programs, and in-kind donations

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of progressive fundraising experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization

  • Proven track record of securing major gifts, foundation support, and corporate sponsorships

  • Experience managing staff and collaborating across departments and with senior leadership

  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and communication skills

  • Comfort with CRM systems, donor analytics, and grant reporting processes

  • Passion for youth development, racial equity, and social impact is a plus

  • Familiarity with sports-based youth development, fencing, or NYC youth-serving organizations is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000–$110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
