Remembering Peter Westbrook (1952-2024)

One year after Peter Westbrook’s passing, his legacy continues to live on through the young people, families, and coaches he inspired. More than a champion and founder, Peter was a mentor who believed deeply in the potential of every child.

Lauren Scruggs wins GOLD & SILVER MEDAL in Paris!

The Peter Westbrook Foundation (PWF) is proud to announce that Lauren Scruggs, a dedicated member of our fencing family, has won a silver medal in the women's individual foil event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The U.S. Women’s Foil Team achieved a historic victory, securing the gold medal in a thrilling match against Italy at the Grand Palais. The team, consisting of Lauren Scruggs (Queens, N.Y.), Lee Kiefer (Lexington, Ky.), Jackie Dubrovich (Maplewood, N.J.), and Maia Weintraub (Philadelphia, Pa.), demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, ultimately winning 45-39, against top-ranked Italy. This is the first Gold medal in U.S. Women’s Foil Team history.
