Essay Topic for March 2019


CONTEST INSTRUCTIONS

 

The deadline for submitting your essay is:  April 6, 2019

 

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!

 

On all submissions, MUST include your name, your age, the title of your essay and your contact information (i.e. phone and/or email) at the top of the page.

 

All essays will be judged on originality, grammar, punctuation, and argument development. Essays should be double-spaced and typed or hand-written using block lettersAll essays must be 1-2 pages in length!

 

Don’t forget to proofread your essay before submitting it!

 

Winners will be announced on Saturday, April 13, 2019

 

Essay Question for Students Ages 8 – 11 and Ages 12-18

 

Mae Jemison, the first black woman to travel in space, once said:

 

“Never limit yourself because of others’ limited imagination; never limit others because of your own limited imagination.”

 

Why is this sentiment so important? How does it relate to Women’s History Month?
